FAQ

A.  A computer virus can only change form if its a polymorphic virus.

Q.  What does "polymorphic" mean?

A.  Polymorphic viruses are viruses that present themselves to an uninfected computer in one form, like as a picture of a famous tennis star, infect the computer, and then are spread to other computers in other forms.  They're very hard to track.

Q.  What does a computer virus look like?

A.  A bunch of 0's and 1's encoded in electronic data transmitted from one computer to another.

Q.  When was the first computer virus ever created?

A.  1981

Q.   When was the first biological virus created?

A.  No one knows but it was a long time ago.

Q.  Why was the first computer virus ever created?

A.  The first computer virus was created as a practical joke in 1981 and was only sent by e-mail.  The second virus ever was created by the government to prove that such a thing could be done but such a thing had already been done so that was a bit silly.  After the second one was created the challenge was up.  So in recent years people do it for two reasons.  The first is just to prove they can do it  but the second is because they want to be as destructive as possible.

Q.  How was the first biological virus created

A.  The first biological virus was probably created by a mistake in the DNA of the first single celled organisms as they reproduced.  And so that first virus organism reproduced and evolved and reproduced and evolved to eventually get what we call biological viruses today.
