Method

Here's what you have to do......

Growing Your Bacteria Crop

1) Boil the water in the saucepan, then add the gelatine and the sugar. Stir until dissolved. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
2) Pour some of your solution, ¼ inch deep, into each petri dish. There should de enough for all 5 dishes.
3) Put the lids on the petri dishes while they cool down for 2 hours. If the lids gets moist, wipe it out with a clean, dry rag. Rinse the leftover solution down the sink with hot water.

The Hunt Begins

1) Make sure the gelatine in the dish is very firm. Rube a swab against your tongue.
2) Zigzag the swab across the gelatine in one of the dishes.
3) Tape the lid on, so no dust or air gets in, and to prevent the dish from spilling.
4) Label the dish “#1 Tongue” and put it somewhere around 22*C, dark, and where you won’t forget it. Try a closet, cupboard, in a box, or under your bed.
5) Repeat steps 1-4 with your toes, behind your ears, inside your nose, and under your arm.
6) Record your observations with charts for every 5 days for 20 days. Write down how fast, how much the bacteria grew, how it looks like ( green, fuzzy….) .

Clean Up

1) With a tissue wipe out the petri dishes and flush down the toilet.
2) Wash the dishes with antibacterial soap. Wash your hands very well.
