Abstract![]()
The objective of this project was to determine if tall people run faster than short people. I was interested in this project because I am tall and I wonder if I have an advantage when I run. My hypothesis was that the short people would have a higher average time than the tall people but there would be more tall people in the Olympics. The experiments involved racing 5 tall people against 5 short people. The race was 25m long and was raced 5 times. I recorded each person's time and their height. After I had finished my experiment, I researched Olympians and recorded their times and heights. The results from my experiment rejected the part of my hypothesis which predicted that short people would have a higher average time. Instead, it didn't seem to matter. However, it supported my expectation that Olympians would be above average in height.
