Scientific Question

Since the start of junior high, I have always had a few problems trying to remember things. Whether it is a novel I've read, or my own science research paper, I've had a few problems with memory, even though I am a Visual Learner, as determined by a test I took for a school project that told me my learning style. Last year, I did an experiment on column widths to see which one was better for different types of people that were my age. My results showed that a six inch column width was the best for students like us to use. This year, I wanted to expand my knowledge a bit more. Instead of doing just column widths, I've decided to do that, font colour, san serif versus serif and font size. There will be four tests, and since I realized that older people needed more help than I did, I decided to do a study on middle-aged people (ages 45-64 years old). I will also test their learning style, as that may affect the results. This will allow the results to sort into finer categories in order to be specific. They need to still remember things, for they have the reins to society.

The four scientific questions for my study are:

What effect does the font size of a reading piece have on the idea memory percentage of a middle-aged reader?

What effect does the type of font (sans serif versus serif) of a reading piece have on the idea memory percentage of a middle-aged reader?

What effect does the font colour of a reading piece have on the idea memory percentage of a middle-aged reader?

What effect does the column width of a reading piece have on the idea memory percentage of a middle-aged reader?
