Treatment
Our community water
system has several steps to ensure us of safe, reliable drinking water.
First, it is filtered
through a 5 micron filter to remove sediment.
Next, it is filtered
through a 1 micron filter to remove cryptosporidium & giardiacysts.
Then, it passes
through ultra violet light to sterilize for bacteria and viruses.
Because our water
passes through these steps we are able to minimize the amount of
hypochloride, which is the last step, that we must put into our water
to keep it healthy as it is distributed and stored for household use.
All these processes are fastened
to a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood in our water building and are modular in design
so they may expand as the need arises.
