Conservation Methods

Meters:  Water meters are installed on all households, enabling the flow of water to each home be monitored. 

Low flow devices:  These units prevent wells from being drained and limit demand on the system.  They flow at 0.05 Gallons Per Minute. 

Household storage tanks:   Every household is required by law to have a working storage tank for water. 

Low flow toilets:  All toilets installed after July 2002 must have a flush of six litres or less.

Drought resistant landscaping:  Use of native plant is encouraged. 

Household:  Turn off tap while brushing your teeth, take shorter showers, fill washing machines and dishwashers before running, repair all leaks and drips.
