Title: Flower Power

Objective: To find out which typeof flower lasts the longest in fertilized and non-fertlized water.

Hypothesis: We think the rose will last the longest due to its genetics.

Material:

10 Roses

10 Dasies

10 Tulips

6 Vases

Miracle Gro plant fertilizer

Water

Paper

Pencil ( To record observations)

Scissors.

 

Variables:

Independant:

Fertlized and Non-fertilized water.

 

Dependant:

The flowers

 

Control: The amount of light, the amount of water in the vases, type of fertilizer, amount of fertilizer.

 

Procedure:

Purchace 3 different types of flowers (10 of each)

Measurea water and fertilizer equally

Mix togetherwater and fertilizer

Put the fertilized and non fertilized water in the vases equally

Cut stems of flowers on an angle at the same length

Put the flowers in the water

Place flowers in the vases on a window sill in equal light

Observe the flowers over a period of a week to nine days.

After 7 to 9 days we will observe which flower lasted the longes but the colour of the flower compared to the original colour and the amount of petals left on the stem.

Repeat 5 times.
