Remote Sensing Techniques

For Black Holes

Black Holes are a fascinating phenomenon that little is known about. Most of what is considered fact is actually just theories about what “could” be happening up there in space. Since little is known about black holes people are always trying to find out more about them. These techniques of long distance research can only be achieved by having remote sensing devices. One of the remote sensing devices is satellites sent off into space to transmit all kinds of information and pictures back here to earth. The satellites don't make it out far enough to get close up information about the black holes though which means we get faint and distant images of these anomalies occurring in space. Satellites technology is getting better and better and millions of dollars is being put into research for this new technology.

The other main type of remote sensing device in researching black holes would be the telescope. The giant telescopes placed on earth are so powerful they can gaze into neighboring galaxies. The pictures are faint but even those can tell us a lot about the universe around us and how everything fits together.  This new technology is getting so advanced that they are getting closer to being able to get quality photos of the galaxies believed to hold black holes in them. While we get closer to the anomalies believed to be black holes more information comes pouring in. Much of the new information is contradictory to what was previously thought. The study of black holes is fascinating and so is the tools used to study them.
