Summary of Project-My project “Cruciferous: The Powerful Healers of Tomorrow" is about how cruciferous vegetables have the power and ability to prevent and fight cancer. There are three vegetables that I have chosen to base my research on; broccoli, cauliflower and bok choy. These vegetables are all part of the cruciferous vegetable family and they all have an amazing effect on preventing cancer, as shown in my research. These vegetables all have the same major active chemical compound in them (indol 3 Carbinol) that all have consistently showing data that people who eat these vegetables all have a greatly lower risk of getting cancer. These cruciferous vegetables can all prevent and fight cancers such as gastric, colon, prostate and breast cancer. Research shows promising results that these vegetables can indeed do both, prevent and fight cancer. Cancer is a horrible type of disease, which nobody wants. I have researched a way to prevent cancer before you even get it and can also fight it off!

Source of Idea: The source of my idea began by my researching of Cancer. I was reading about cancer and I suddenly read that cruciferous vegetables could actually prevent cancer from starting. I started researching how and why these vegetables had the power to actually prevent cancer. I thought that this would be a good idea for a research project because it would have lots of information that would inform people about these fasinating vegetables.
