When we think of an insipid refreshment such as a glass water, where there is taste or after taste; we feel nothing, we think of nothing; we drink and that is all. (Brillat-Savarin Anthelme, 1999, p.1)
Ninety seven percent of the water on earth comes from the sea, two percent comes either from ice or polluted water. There is only one percent of the water on the earth that can be drank. Every day people use water to clean themselves, to work, to swim, to cook and to drink. The human body is seventy five percent water. Water transports nutrition around the body and decomposes food. Water also controls the temperature of the body and it makes are skin elastic. We can live a couple weeks without food but without water we can juste survive a couple days. The bottled water industry is a industry that makes thirty five billion dollars per year in the world. This industry is growing because the quality of water is becoming worse and people are more conscious about their health. In the year 2000 the sales of bottled water increased 9,9% more than carbonated drinks, juice and beer.
I want to do this experience because I want to know if water from the sink is as good as bottled water. My goal is to use bottled water Dasani, Evian, Aquafina, sink water from Campbell River and filtered water from Brita to know witch one tastes the best. My hypothesis is that the bottled water will taste better because people are buying it all the time which probably means tht people think it's better tasting water.
