Abstract

 

 

The objective of my project was to discover what type of water tastes the best such as bottled from the companies: Dasani, Aquafina, Evian and filtered Brita water and Campbell River tap water to find out if bottled water is worth the price.

As I said before, the products I used in this experiment are bottled water from the companies: Dasani, Evian, Aquafina and filtered Brita water and Campbell River tap water. First, I asked 15 volunteers to taste the water. I then gave 25ml of the water in five different cups with numbers on them so they did not know which one is which. I also gave the volunteers a chart to evaluate the taste of each sample of water. The chart stated that 5 is the best to 1 being the worst tasting water.

My hypothesis was rejected because I thought that the bottled water would taste better because people buy it all the time. After repeating the experiment five times, the results were almost always the same. Overall, I found that the best tasting water was the Campbell River tap water.
