There are two kinds of contacts lenses: plastic and glass. Plastic contact lenses are good because they are hard, transparent, light, comfortable and they don't hurt the eye if they break.  They don't have much resistance to scratches and they can't be worn for a long time. Most people choose to wear plastic contacts.

Glass contact lenses durable, they resist scratches, and they can be worn for a long time.  They hurt the eye when they break, they are very heavy, and they are very uncomfortable.

There are two different shapes of contacts: concave and convex.  Concave contacts are for people with myopia.  They are thinner in the middle, so they can trick the eye into thinking the eye is thinner.

Convex contacts are for people with hyper myopia.  They are thicker in the middle so they can make the eye longer.
