Eye Diseases

There are thousands of different eye diseases including Cataracts and Glaucoma.
Cataract
The crystalline is a part of the eye, located behind the pupil, and is made of water and protein. The protein is arranged to to let the light pass through, but sometimes the protein will stick together and fog up the crystalline, making a cataract.

People with a cataract will have fogged up vision, colors will appear faded, they will see fog around, and will have problems seeing at night. Glasses and surgery can treat a cataract. If you have surgery, the surgeon will remove the crystalline and replace it, 90% of all surgeries work.
Glaucoma
The fluids in the eye go through something that resembles a filter. If the fluids slow down in the filter it will cause high pressure in the eye. This is how Glaucoma starts.
Scientists think that smoking, diabetes or family members with it may cause Glaucoma. People with Glaucoma have no side vision, have problems seeing at night, and their front vision is slowly disappearing. If you have Glaucoma, it looks like you are looking down a tunnel.

Pills, eye drops and laser surgery can help Glaucoma. The surgeon uses a laser machine to make small burns in the filter to make more room for the fluids to pass through.
