Throughout this project I received help, advice and guidance from many people.  I owe a great amount of thanks to those who helped me with this wonderful experience.  At school, there was my teacher Dr. Nancy Lowery.  Dr. Lowery made initial contact with my mentor, provided moral support, and helped me manage my time.  She helped me to balance schoolwork and my project throughout the year.  At the lab, I received guidance from Dr. George Robertson and Dr. Rob Gilbert.  Both of these professionals helped in editing my work.  Alex Wishart, a graduate student at the lab, was also there to help.  When my mentor was unavailable, Alex helped me.  He also assisted in my lab orientation in January.   Along with work on the project, Alex provided me with insight into the life of a graduate student.  It takes a lot of work and self-discipline.  Finally, there is my mentor, Dr. Ramani Soundararajan.  Dr. Soundararajan supported me through my project.  She was always there for constant guidance, support, and she was a tremendous help in editing my lab report.  Without her, this project would not have been possible.
