Objective: To determine if artificial light affects the sleeping habits of domestic dogs.
Hypothesis: I believe that if the dog starts sleeping with the lights on then turning the lights off and on will not affect the sleeping process, but if the dog starts sleeping with the lights off then the lights on and off will affect the dog's sleeping process.
Materials: 5 dogs, 5 dog beds(wich will be provided by the owners), artificial light.
Variable(s):
Independant:- Artificial light
Dependant:- dogs sleeping habits
Control:- amount of time the light is turned on and off
- Dog
Procedure list:
1) Let dog fall asleep
2) After dog is fast asleep turn light on for 5 seconds
3) If dog is still sleeping turn light off for 5 seconds
4)Repeat both numbers two and three four times if dog is still asleep
5) Observe dog after each light switch to check sleeping habits
5) Record your findings
