The purpose of this study was to determine whether our neighborhood park, Nose Hill, was a feasible area in which to install wind turbines on. This was an important project because the world is quickly running out energy resources and every year, there are more greenhouse gasses emissions released into the atmosphere.  As a citizen, it is my responsibility to find solutions to help our environment.

Thus, by doing this project, I hope to create awareness and to encourage the implementation of more wind energy systems. I also worked with four other classmates, Lisa, Helena, Byron, and Kate. As a group, we studied the biological impact, design studies, and the physics of wind turbines.

My classmates and I go to Nose Hill very often to ride our bikes or take walks. I especially like to go there to walk my dog. Anyhow, we've noticed that this park is always very windy and we began to wonder if we could use this wind power to our advantage. We began this project as a school project and later we entered it in science fair. Now, I have entered this in the virtual science fair to further promote our ideas across the web.
