In this project, I tried creating a simple fuel cell using wires, salt water, platinum wire, and 9 volt batteries. I connected the platinum wire to the water and the batteries. After a certain amount of time, I would disconnect them and connect them to a multimeter, which would find the voltage and the amount of time it took to discharge the electricity. I then tried switching around the water, charging time, number of batteries, etc. I found that the water held the charge for about five minutes, therefore making it a fuel cell and proving my hypothesis to be correct.
