As a group, we decided, after much debate, to prove the danger and destruction that microwaves leave in their wake by watering four different cat-grass plants with water micro waved for different amounts of time. All in all, the plants were each watered for a week (they die after this amount of time): one was watered with plain purified water, one with water micro waved for 2 minutes, one with water micro waved for 5 minutes, and one with water micro waved for 10 minutes.

We predict that the plant watered with purified water will grow normally which is about 17 centimetres in one week. For the plant that was watered in water micro waved for two minutes, we predicted that the plant would still grow, but would be somewhat different than the growth of the first plant. For the third plant (plant watered with water micro waved for five minutes), we predicted that the growth would be much slower and would only grow about two centimetres over the seven-day period. Finally, for the last plant (cat-grass watered with water micro waved for ten minutes), we predicted that there would be no growth whatsoever throughout the week. Although these are predictions, we believe that the actual results, which obtain shortly, will be somewhat similar to the results we have foretold.
On the actually conduction of the experiments, we discovered that the overall idea was the same, but the data was slightly different from our predicted results.

All the plants grew quite similarly. By the end of the week, the pure water plant had grown twenty centimetres with an average growth rate of 2.5 centimetres each day. The plant that we put in the water micro waved for two minutes had reached a height of 16.5 centimetres with an average growth rate of two centimetres each day. The plant that we put in the water micro waved for five minutes had reached a height of 16.5 centimetres with an average growth rate of two centimetres each day. The plant that we put in the water micro waved for ten minutes had reached a height of 15 centimetres with an average growth rate of 1.9 centimetres each day. All in all, there was a substantial difference in the height of the plants.
