We decided to do our project on the effect of microwaves. After analyzing the situation we came up with the hypothesis that “If plants are given micro waved water as opposed to pure water, then the plants will not grow as well”. The independent variable is how long we expose the water to microwaves for. The dependant variable is the actual growth of the plant. What we did was we selected four of the same plants (cat grass) and we added water to each plant, having been exposed to microwaves for different durations of time. Our hypothesis proved correct when we discovered that, in fact, that the different levels of micro waved water did in fact have a negative effect on the plant growth. Our experiment demonstrated the effects of microwaves on plants.
