Before performing the procedure of my project, my hypothesis was that the heart rate would increase with higher pitches of sound. My hypothesis was approved! My results showed that 11 out of 15 people's heart rates increased when the fisrst sound was played and kept on increasing as the sound got higher. 3 out of 15 people's heart rates didn't change and 1 person's heart rate went lower when the first sound was played and kept decreasing as the sound pitches got higher.Errors could have occured in my project because, the heart rate monitor could have been broken, I could hve read the numbers wrong or I could have accidentally changed the volume on the c.d. player while I pressed play. If I could redo my project, I would test whether age and gender make a difference in how the heart reacts to sound. I now know how the heart listens!
