In conclusion my hypothesis was that Dentyne Ice was going to last the longest. My goal for this project was to chew five different brands of gum and see which one of the brands of gums flavor lasted the longest.
The results ended up being that Excel lasted the longest followed by Dentyne Ice, Trident, Freedent and Clorets. Meaning that my hypothesis was incorrect. The experiment didnt last long. Most f the brands of gums flavor ran out very fast. Excel lasted for 51 one minutes, Dentyne Ice lasted for 14 minutes, Trident lasted for 11 minutes, Freedent lasted for 5 minutes and Clorets lasted for 4 minutes. Intoal i spent 85 minutes chewing gum.
The experiment has a possiblity of being incorrect becuase i was chewing the same flavor of gum for each brand which could have made my tastes think that a certain gums flavor lasted long even though it may have not lasted long it was just that I had that flavor in my mouth for a long time.
.. If I ever did this same experiment again I would make sure not to do all the brands of gums on the same day and if i did do them on the same day after chewing a certain flavor of gum I would eat something else after with a complete different flavor.
