Memory Loss:

Creating and storing memories is a difficult process that involves many areas of the brain. This includes the frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes. Any damage or disease in these areas of the brain may result in a variety of degrees of memory loss. It is believed that consolidation takes place in the hippocampi, located in the termporal-lobe regions of the brain. Medical research indicates that it is the frontal and temporal lobes that are most often damaged during head injury.

A loss of memory occurs if something interrupts the consolidation process as a short-term memory is continuously activated. This interruption could occur if an individual get’s a concussion or experiences any other brain trauma. As a result, a memory can not be stored for a long-term access.
