INTRODUCTION

This project is about testing how strong buildings are. People have been trying to make buildings stronger for thousands of years so they can survive earth quakes, snow storms or wind storms.

People have already made lots of strong buildings. Take the Egyptian pyramids for instance. They have stood for thousands of years. The pyramids at Giza are the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world that is left in one piece.

I am going to be testing parts of buildings such as arches, roof types, building types, building shapes, columns, flying buttresses, and roof struts. I will use 3D geometric structures in my experiment because they are the basic shapes used in building design.
