Conclusion

From the data, one may conclude that, if the passage of ions into the cell is blocked, or restricted, an action potential will not be able to occur. This is due to the fact that polarity of the cell is restricted, the correct ions are not flowing out of the cell, as the passage is blocked. Since there is no action potential, no synapse is able to form between the two cells.

This thus indicates that each and every ion is critical during a synapse, and action potential; even if the balance is slightly disturbed; the proceedings will not occur according to plan.
