In this project, I will be planting six plants in a planter, three of which will contain table salt.  I will try to determine how table salt affects plant growth and whether or not it should be used to help plant growth.  Although it may be advantageous, the plants could experience side effects which could affect its growth in other ways.

I believe that the salt will make the plants grow smaller because I think that one of the ingredients of the salt will be fatal to the plants.  I believe that after nine weeks, the plants that I will grow naturally will be larger than the ones that are grown with the addition of salt.

My hypothesis was correct.  At the end of nine weeks, the plants that were grown with the addition of salt were on average 6.1 cm long; the plants that were grown naturally were on average 10.8 cm long.  This proves that salt can affect agriculture and is probably the reason why most civilizations had to move around from one area to another.
