Experiment 

Question:

We were wondering who had the better sense of smell between  boys and girls and different age categories such as 20 and under; 21 to 40 ; 41 to 60 ; 61 and over. To figure that out we did an experiment.

Hypotheses:

We thought that boys and girls would have the same sense of smell but that the age group 20 and under would have a better sense of smell than older people.

Experiment:

We put 7 different substances, each with a strong odor, in their own  container. After that, we tested eight people from each category (boys, girls, 20 and under, 21 to 40, 41 to 60, 61 and over). To test those people we put a blindfold on their eyes and then we put each substance one by one in front of their nose and they had to guess what each substance was by smelling it.

Material:

- 8 people in each category

- 7 different substances (  cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea, pickles, vanilla, mint )

- 7 different containers for each substance

- a blindfold
