Objective

We looked for a change in the promoter of the BAX gene in non-small cell lung cancer with the hope that it might have associations with features that determine how the patients behave.

Hypothesis

We hypothesize that the genetic change in the BAX promoter in non-small cell lung cancer is linked with patients not responding to treatment very well because of the effects the change can have on the amoumts of BAX and BCL-2 in the protein.
