Experiment

Material:

Steps:

Step #1: Construct a heavy bat by taping le wrist weight onto the old bat with the ‘Duct Tape’.

Step #2: Measure the bat speed of the light bat using the speed gun.

Step #3: Each day after the first speed measuring, swing the heavy bat 30 times.

Step #4: After one week of ‘step 3’, measure the speed again of the light bat. Did the speed change?

Step #5: Each day this week swing the heavy bat 30 times.

Step #6: After another week of swinging the heavy bat measure the speed again with the light bat.

Step #7: Repeat ‘steps #5 and #6’.

Step #8: After the fourth speed measure (one at the beginning and one after each week), make some graphs of the average and the standard deviation of the bat speeds.

Step #9: Compare the graphs. Did the speed increase? If yes, by how much? And did the speeds get more consistent as the weeks went on?
