Title:

The Skate

Purpose:

To find out what wheel helps a player skate the fastest around a rink.

Procedure:

1. Get the player to line up about an inch before the redline.
2. When a signal to go is given, the player starts.
3. Time him or her with a stopwatch.
4. Once the player crosses the same redline stop the stopwatch and record the time.

Materials:

Timer
Stopwatch
Players (3)
Wheels
Gear

Observations:

Trial #1: Rink Rat Hot Shots

Brent	19	Speedy in straight sections, but still slippery around corners.
Micah	20	They were alright.
Troy	22	They were alright.
Trial #2: Rink Rat Hot Shots

Brent	19	Great speed on straight areas, not as slippery as before.
Micah	20	Very slippery in last corner.
Troy	21	Better, still kind of slippery in corners. Especially the last corner.

Troy	21	They were good, could have been more smooth.

Brent	20	Sticky in straight sections. Couldn't get skates back in stride fast enough.
Micah	20	Awful corners again.
Troy	21	Turns were slippery, wish they could have been sharper.

Brent	19	Corners were dreadful. Incredibly slippery.

Conclusion:

I have concluded that the skaters did there best in their own wheels. The type of wheel didn't really affect the skaters speed. I also have viewed that all lap speeds are about the same which shows a good level of consistency in all the wheels.
