There were many controls in my project, so that I could have more accurate results.  They include the following.

1. All students that I tested were tested in the same room to have a constant room temperature.

2. Students exposed to second hand smoke that I tested had to have been exposed to it for three or more years regularly in their homes.

3. Students had to be at rest for five minutes.

4. Students could not smoke themselves.

5. Students could not have asthma or any other respiratory disease.

6. Students had to be free of chest congestion and other cold symptoms.
