In the game Clue, there are nine different rooms in which the murder could have been committed. All of the items that could be found in each of the nine rooms were chosen to develop and lift fingerprints from in order to determine which items could be used to get fingerprints for identification purposes. In the dining room, a wine glass, a brass candlestick, a metal spoon, a silver spoon, a paper napkin, a cloth napkin and the varnished wood from the table were used to take fingerprints from. The items from the library were a book with a glossy cover and a statue. A partially finished wooden coat hanger, a wall coat hanger and a mirror were chosen from the hall. The items used from the lounge were a newspaper, a glass ashtray, a cloth sofa covering and threaded black pipe metal (from a revolver). A pool ball and a copper elbow pipe were removed from the billiard room. A plastic cap (keyboard key), a computer mouse, black wrench metal (from a fire-poker) and paper were found in the study. From the kitchen, a metal door handle, a plastic knife handle, a tap handle top, a rolling pin and a silver wrench were used. A plastic watering can and a clay plant pot were taken from the conservatory and a rope and drapes were found in the ball room. A light switch, a light switch plate and doorknob were found to be in common with every room and were also used.
