◊ Born 1881, passed away in 1955. ◊ Alexander was born near Darvel, Scotland. ◊ He accidentally discovered penicillin in 1928. ◊ In 1944, he was knighted, making him Sir Alexander Fleming. ◊ He served as a professor of bacteriology at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School from 1928 – 1948.
◊ Alexander shared the Nobel prize with two other scientists for the discovery of Penicillin in 1945. |
