Background Many coaches at the end of the football season tell their quarterbacks to lift some weights and continue to practice throwing. This is to improve strength while keeping the quarterbacks’ throwing mechanics the same. This, of course, may not be true. It may just be an assumption that was passed down from coach to coach. The question arises, what would be the best way to train in the off-season to prepare for the next season?
