Conclusion

   I conclude that the lunar effect urban legend is not just a myth.  I have found that more infants are born around the new moon than on any other lunar phase.  However, to prove this theory would take many more hours, perhaps even years, of research. 

   I have also found that the weather does not appear to be effected by the lunar phase.  I did read in an article that two scientists by the names of Balling and Cervany studied the possible effect of the moon on temperature.  They discovered that five to eight days before the full moon, the global temperature rose by less than a degree Celsius.
