OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project is to determine whether or not stem cells have the ability to become functioning motor neurons.  To function properly, the differentiated cells must have is calcium channels. This study will test the hypothesis that when exposed to appropriate differentiating factors, embryonic stem cells will differentiate into motor neurons that express calcium channels.
