Black Holes

The very thought about "tears" in space was dismissed by scientists until the turn of the century. For years, scientists began to attempt to understand these phenomena, and using various devices and theories, they have illustrated the basics, in which can be found on this site. The major theories focussed on was that of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. Using this, scientists attempted to understand the dimensions of a black hole as well as its formation and origins. Eventually, they discovered that black holes came in different "types." Despite the fact that today, mankind knows so little, we have managed to uncover the very basis of black holes and will continue to uncover the mystery behind them in the years ahead.

Features and Navigational Tips

Site Menu - This option is located under the banner at the top of the page. By clicking on a category, you can find out about a certain topic regarding black holes.

Sector Side-Menu - After clicking an option on the Site Menu, there will be various sub-categories located on the top of the left panel. By clicking these, you are able to access extensive information regarding the topic.

Flash Video FAQ - Located below the Sector Side-Menu, this feature displays Frequently Asked Questions if it is activated. Click on "Play the Movie" to commence. In the duration of the movie, at any time, if the "Pause the Movie" button is clicked, the movie will freeze. To resume, click "Play the Movie." The movie will automatically loop upon completion. A more detailed answer along with the question is provided in the FAQ page.

Interesting Facts Automated Scroller - This autoplay bar, is located on the right panel and displays interesting facts about black holes. At any time, you may hover your mouse above the bar, in order to pause and read it. The scrolling text will repeat itself, upon completion.
