Using a 25% error rate means that at least 25% of our subjects displaying dominance could have been incorrectly classified. Thirteen of 30 subjects is well over the error rate and thus indicates at least a rare occurrence of dominance. Five indications is well under the error rate and could have easily all been misplaced, thus showing a very small possibility of dominance.

Using this it is obvious that of the two systems the “boths” system worked better. This is probably because it forced the subject to make mistakes thus resulting in better results. The test was designed to provide the subjects two stimuli and ask them to give back one answer. Rational is, that the side they reported would be the side where they tasted the flavour, hence the dominant side. This leads us to conclude that gustatory dominance does occur, but it is rare, and is not directly related to dominance in other body systems.
