As many of you already know, the world we inhabit is becoming increasingly dependant on technology for many of our everyday needs. Most technologies used today are taken for granted because they are virtually invisible to the untrained seeker. However, it would be beneficial for the majority of people to be able to recognize these technologies and their effects in order to improve upon them for the future and prepare us for the chance that these technologies may someday fail. A quickly growing portion of the technological field can be found in robotics. From prosthetic limbs to intergalatic probes, robotics is very much in use and it's use in the future will increase as the technology develops and better methods and lower costs are contributed.

Our project brings a focus to this expanding technology of robotics through constructing a variety of robots and demonstrating their use for everyday life . Also, another goal of this project is to help the general public better understand the workings of these robots leading to embracement of further automation in the future for home use, office use, travel, and space exploration, all of which goes to improving the standard of human life.
In analyzing the final product of our creations, we developed some predetermined criteria for the robots to meet. Of course, each robot is different, therefore they do not have all the exact same criteria, but in general:
*1. Does the robot's design accomodate for any modifications?
*2. Do the basic electronics work? (i.e. motors, controllers)
*3. Does the robot have motion?
*4. Is the robot capable of performing the expected function?
*5. Can the robot demonstrate it's abilities in a science fair setting?
*6. Will the robot's prescence contribute to the furthering of robotics?

After these criteria were satisifed, we determined the robots were ready for display. We hope you enjoy our robotic demonstrations but keep in mind they are not just for amusement. This is technology in motion and the possibilities for robotics are boundless under the control of creative, educated, and willing minds.
